Working with chocolate is really a challenging why because it needs a perfect tempering for right chocolate shape at the end. You may think why I named this item a chocolate sphere cupcake. Let me take a minute to clear this. Usually the chocolate cupcakes are made with flour, eggs, butter, cocoa powder and baking on certain temperature. But I want something new on my party table other than traditional cupcakes. So, tried making this cute chocolate sphere cupcakes so that I can fill them with ice cream or mousse.

How to make chocolate sphere mold or sphere mould


I am not going to say how to make the large chocolate sphere mold because they are lots of recipes out please check them. But sure I will make you to pick the right chocolate for making these cute little chocolate spheres.

Why do we need to temper the chocolate at right temperature?


Simply for better chocolate molds and shapes that you want to make. Chocolate is having coco solids and coco butter together so you need to temper the chocolate to make them nice crystalized and you want to control them by agitating. At 95degrees the crystals start forming into nice magical crystals and then you need to cool the chocolate all the way down to 79 degrees. So that the crystals will be strong at this point. Start using the chocolate at this point for making nice spheres.

  • Silicone Moulds
  • Candy thermometer

How much time it will take to make these chocolate semi sphere cupcakes


Is your chocolate tempered correctly at given temperatures then it will take just 15 minutes to make this nice chocolate spheres.

How to attach the two chocolate spheres


Take a little warm liquid chocolate and dip the center into it and stick the other one on the top. Let it cool or dry for 2 minutes. You chocolate sphere cup cakes are ready.

What are the best fillings for chocolate sphere cup cakes

  • Ice cream (Tutti frutti on top)
  • Chocolate mousse

What is the best chocolate for making chocolate molds or large chocolate sphere balls

You can use dark chocolate, semi sweet dark chocolate for making chocolate sphere balls or chocolate molds. I used

  • Belgian dark chocolate semi sweet callets
  • Callebaut chocolate callets (White chocolates)
  • You can also use the diary milk semi sweet dark chocolate. I tried, its really awesome.

How long you need to refrigerate the silicon molds after filling with chocolate

Wait for 15 minutes or you see the chocolate is pulling out from the edges.

Best room temperature you should maintain while working with Chocolate or chocolate sphere molds

The best room temperature for tempering chocolate is between 68-72degree F and humidity below 50%
