How to add extra aroma to fried rice? Secret Ingredients for making tasty aromatic fried rice

There are many different ways of making fried rice dishes like Chinese, Italian, thai, Indian and so on based on the region. Rice is the only item that we can customize with delicious add-ins. I usually transform the leftover rice into a special spicy fried rice by adding veggies, eggs and chicken. 

So cooking a flavored and delicious fried rice is common but adding a nice aroma to the dish is what we are going to discuss today. Adding carrots, beans, peas, eggs and chicken are the regular ingredients that we will add in the fried rice but today we are discussing the ingredients which add more aroma to the fried rice. Lets see how to add best aroma to the veg fried rice or non veg fried rice.

Oils will add aroma to fried rice

Choose the best oil for cooking the fried rice like vegetable oil, peanut oil and palm oil. Oil gives a nice aroma to fried rice.

Pick the best rice for making the fried rice. Jasmine, brown, long grain rice or sona masori rice are the different types of rices that we generally use for making Fried rice.

Eggs add a special flavor to the dish

Most fried rice are seen with EGGS. You can fry the eggs separately and add into the dish or mix it with veggies and cook.

Garnishes can also make the fried rice aromatic

Add Coriander and spring onions at the last to garnish the fried rice. It gives yummy aroma to the dish.

Ginger and Garlic

Instead of ginger garlic paste try using the chopped ginger and chopped garlic for aromatic fried rice. Add the chopped items before adding veggies. 

Grind garlic and thai red chilli for perfect fried rice

Give a twist to the dish by using the thai red chilli and garlic paste. I use this whenever I make the fried rice. Add this garlic and red chilli paste to the tempering for achieving best aroma.

Basil Leaves - amazing aroma to fried rice

Basil leaves are my secret ingredient for nice aromatic fried rice. Yes, there are different types of basil leaves available to us. You can use either thai spicy basil leaves or regular Italian basil leaves based on the type of fried rice you are making.

Coconut Milk adds a tasty flavor to the fried rice

Try using unsweetened coconut milk (thai coconut milk for thai fried rice) to add aromatic tasty fried rice.

Bell peppers for extra aroma in fried rice

You can also add bell peppers according to your taste but don't fry them completely. Just stir fry and add all the other ingredients for better taste. 

Other than above secret ingredients for aromatic fried rice mentioned you can add Soy sauce, oyster sauce, chilli garlic paste or red chilli pepper sauce according to your taste.
